Whats is CRRT?

A new blood purification modality for:
  • Treatment of Acute Renal Failure
  • Toxin / Drug exposure
  • Fluid overload associated with heart failure
  • Treatment of some immune mediated diseases
Why CRRT?
 
CRRT has advantages over intermittent dialysis:
  • More closely resembles normal kidney function.
  • Provides better control of electrolyte and acid-base balance
  • Can be operated "cage side"
  • Ability to remove larger molecules
